Welcome to St. Regis Academy
Classical education is known by many names and can be used in a variety of ways. At St. Regis Academy, we have chosen a classical education approach bearing in mind the greater mission of the Catholic Church and the critical role Catholic education plays in that. St. Pope John Paul II stated, “The cause of Catholic education is the cause of Jesus Christ and of His Gospel at the service of man.” We each have a deep call to personal holiness and Catholic education truly centered by, around, and for Christ. The classical education model lends itself to such a practice by actively pursuing connections throughout the curriculum and returning, again and again, to our Ultimate Creator and Lord.
Classical education seeks to educate students in a way that goes beyond departmentalization, test preparation, and “self-expression”. It strives to lead students to discover knowledge that is ordered, coherent, integrated, and is rooted in the wisdom of the past, particularly in western civilization. The study of Latin, Art, and Music is integral to classical formation. Classical educators stir up in their students wonder and awe at the beauty of the universe and the goodness of Christian virtue, which propels their natural curiosity into lifelong, self-motivated learning and human flourishing.

Emphasis on the Story of God’s World
The stories of Western civilization and Christianity are so intertwined that one cannot be understood apart from the other. From Kindergarten through 8th grade students will cycle through Ancient (Egypt, Greece, Rome), European, and American history two times. Our curriculum lends itself to frequent pauses and connections as needed to allow our scholar not only to learn the facts of history but to learn from it. Scholars can connect deeply to a variety of people, cultures, and experiences with intentionally paired literature that enhances their learning and understanding of all God’s people. Growth in Virtue Scholars are not only being academically, but also spiritually prepared for a life of service and discipleship. Scholars are encouraged to strive for academic and spiritual growth, knowing that their value rests in their identities as children of God. Inclusive Environment St. Regis Academy, through the generous support of the F.IR.E. Foundation and our donors, is able to do more for our scholars in the classroom. The classical model meets scholars where they are and welcomes them with open arms. Our educators strive to provide each scholar with the different supports that they need, differentiating as needed to help promote true flourishing in the classroom for each scholar we welcome into the academy. Integrated Curriculum The study of math and science is the discovery of beauty and rational order, which is a discovery of God. From a simple equation to a simple machine, to behold a truth, no matter how small, leads students to the Truth Incarnate, the person of Jesus Christ. This integration also recognizes this person, His Incarnation, as the center of human history. The study of salvation and world history is always in relation to Him and His Church. Content in literature, music, and art also match the historical time period being studied. Latin Latin studies begin in Pre-Kindergarten and are given increased emphasis in Logic School. Why study a dead language? Learn more here. Purpose-driven Lessons The authentic purpose of education and of life drives every decision and lesson. Lesson plan objectives are based not on what “students will be able to do”, but rather, on what “truth students will behold.” Students are constantly reminded that we are in pursuit of growth in virtue and personal holiness. STREAM St. Regis Academy is proud to be a STREAM (Science, Religion, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) school. Each Thursday in the Logic School sets aside time for scholars to explore the five areas in dynamic, project-based learning facilitated by staff and community volunteers. Scholars explore a variety of careers and hobbies to help develop their interests and consider the different ways they can serve their communities in the future! Technology as a Tool At St. Regis Academy, we are not opposed to using any tool that helps us achieve our mission. Digital technology is one such tool and we strive to incorporate it organically into the classroom without lessening the value of human critical thinking. Conclusion St. Regis Academy scholars are more than just graduates; they are disciples. The formation they receive in all subject areas is geared toward preparing our young people to be confident defenders of the good, the true and the beautiful, utilizing these ideals in all decision-making. The knowledge and wisdom they gain here will serve them in the parish, further education and the workplace. We pray that all of our scholars are faithful servants for mankind through the example of Christ, utilizing their whole person in His service.
